Louis Maalawy  PGCert  (Pain Management) BSc (Hons)  MCSP
Clinical Director & Lead Physiotherapist

Louis has been a Physiotherapist for 10 years, graduating from King's College London in 2008. He spent the next two and a half years gaining experience in a wide range of Physiotherapy specialities within the NHS, including musculoskeletal, orthopaedics, neurological rehabilitation, care of the elderly, respiratory / intensive care and community rehabilitation. This gave him exposure to a variety of health conditions and how they are managed in the context of a multidisciplinary health team.

Louis then went on to specialise in musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, where he has worked since. He has worked in numerous hospitals and clinics in and around London and the rest of the country. To advance his knowledge and clinical practice he completed numerous post-graduate courses including:-

  • AACP Certficate in Western Medical Acupuncture

  • Certificate in Spinal Manual Therapy

  • Diploma (level 3) in Sports Massage

  • Certficate in Osteopathic Spinal Manipulation

Louis developed a passion for working with patients suffering with persistent pain conditions such as chronic low back pain, Fibromyalgia and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). This lead him to go courses in 'Cognitive Functional Therapy' (CFT), 'Pain Neuroscience Education' (PNE) and 'Cognitive-Behavioural Approach to the Management of Pain' aiming to help his patients further.

Most recently Louis embarked on a Masters degree in Pain Management at Cardiff University, where he has just completed his first year gaining a Postgraduate certificate with distinction. He is excited to continue his academic journey with the key driver being to be a more effective clinician and help more people in their recovery.
